Updates to the WT Board

Following the EGM on 15th November, we’re delighted to announce Alan Long will continue as Artistic Director his second season, and that preparations will soon begin for our 2023/4 season. A statement in light of the death of Her Majesty

Thursday 8th September As a mark of respect for the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth, Wokingham Theatre will be closed tonight, and this evening’s performance (8th September) of A Bunch of Amateurs cancelled. We will also be closed on the day of Her Majesty’s funeral. We will be in contact with all patrons affected by the closure in due course, offering refunds or seats for an alternative performance where possible. — The Wokingham Theatre Board

After nine years in the role, Ben Kellett is stepping down as WT’s Technical Director. He has made a sizeable and much appreciated contribution to life at WT, and the board wish to express their thanks to him for his tireless work over that time. Introducing: Write@WT

WT are thrilled to announce the launch of our dedicated group for writing for performance led by Hedda Bird, whose recent writing credits include a celebrated new adaptation of Nicholas Nickleby produced at Oxford Playhouse. The group will be open to all those who are interested in writing for theatre, and will meet in-between productions at WT. Remembering Richard Coleman

A few weeks ago, WT lost one of its most active, talented, and well-respected members, Richard Coleman. Any of our patrons that have seen a show at WT over the last 10-20 years will have seen his work on stage, with his talents as a scenic painter most often being deployed to design and paint all the floors of our sets.
