Get Involved: Front of House Volunteers

Many of our patrons don’t realise that whilst the cast and crew of a show are volunteers, so are our whole front of house team! Whether behind the bar, selling programmes, or scanning tickets, everyone involved in the team is giving up their time to help out at WT.

It’s also a great way for our members to socialise, as well as meet new people, too! If you’ve not done it before, you’ll receive full training from our team, and for those that have volunteered for us before, we’ve instituted a couple of changes while the theatre has been closed to make life that bit easier.

Firstly, we’ve moved to a paperless ticketing system, which means our front of house team will be scanning our audience’s tickets, and secondly, for selling programmes, ice creams, coffees, etc., we’ve moved to a tablet-based system to make sure we keep an accurate record of what our audiences are buying, meaning our audiences can also buy refreshments and programmes with cash or contactless!

Each 10-night production has 60 front of house roles to fill over the run, so there are plenty of chances to get involved, meet new people, and help keep WT running for our audiences.

If you’re a current member, the front of house rota for September in the Rain is now available in the My Account area, but if you’re not a member and would like to volunteer, get in touch with our front of house team! Either send an email to, or visit the Contact Us page, and drop us a note.
